The Beaver Lady Dusters won a back-and-forth battle over Syracuse, 42-33, to earn a trip to the finals of the Rolla Showcase.
Beaver jumped out to an 11-2 lead in the first quarter only to see Syracuse outscore then 13-4 in the second to knot the game at 15 at half.
Beaver again took command with a 14-2 advantage in the third to go up 29-17 heading into the final stanza.
Syracuse rallied at the offensive end to score 16, but the Lady Dusters were able to keep them at a distance by scoring 13 to win by nine.
Key for the Lady Dusters was getting to the free throw line. Beaver made 18 of 36 free throws, while Syracuse made only 5 of 12 attempts.
Jacinda Balderrama led the Lady Dusters with 15 points, including seven in the final period. Balderrama was 9 of 18 at the free throw line. Kaitlin Kemp added nine, scoring eight of those in the first half. Madison Cates added 7.
