TYRONE, Okla.—The Tyrone Lady Bobcats committed too many unforced errors, and did not have enough shooter’s touch in their 44-29 lost to the Felt Lady Bulldogs in the first round of the High Plains Tournament.
“The hit shots and we didn’t,” Lady Bobcats coach Clay Witt said. “They made a lot of threes and we shot them. If were not hitting we have to get inside and get better shots. Too many bad passes we don’t need to make.”
With 2:36 left in the second quarter, Tyrone and Felt were knotted at 11. But finished the half scoring the final five points to go up 16-11 at the half.
Felt continued their run into the second half with a 14-4 run to make the score 30-15 with 3:04 left in the third.
Rayna Wall came alive in the fourth quarter with 8 straight points to help cut the Lady Bulldogs lead back to ten, but the Lady Bobcats could get no closer.
Early in the game both teams were hitting from outside. Felt started the game with a pair of threes, and Tyrone’s Alondra Aviles answered with a pair of her own to tie the game at 7. Aviles finished the game as the Lady Bobcats leading scorer with 13. Rayna Wall added 11.
Tyrone will take on Yarbrough today.
