JOHNSON – Floyd A. Chenoweth, 93, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at the Stanton County Long Term Care Unit in Johnson.
He was born Jan. 19, 1920, to Ira and Pearl (Meharg) Chenoweth in Bunker Hill.
He married Girtha M. Branam Floyd May 18, 1947. She survives.
He was a wheat farmer. He served in the United States Air Force during World War II.
He was a member of the Johnson Rotary Club and VFW Post No. 3684.
Other survivors include one son, John M. Chenoweth and wife, Deanna, Georgetown, Texas; one daughter, Annetta M. Young and husband, Rick, Derby; one grandson, Matthew A. Young, Tulsa, Okla.; one brother, Dean Chenoweth and wife, Ella Fern, Haviland; and one sister, Terri Snyder and husband, Harold, La Habra, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Gladys Schmidt; and two sisters, Audrey Ellis and Kitty Leffer.
• Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Johnson, with Pastor Richard Fitzgerald presiding.
Burial will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson, with military rites conducted by VFW Post No. 3684.
