Forgan coach Brett Trippet did something he had not done before Wednesday at the Laverne Invitational; face an opposing coach he had known since birth, his daughter Jenny Trippet. Dad was able to hold the edge in a close 42-40 win for the Forgan Lady Bulldogs.

Laverne took the early lead, and was ahead by four at the end of the first quarter, 13-9. Forgan battled back in the second, but still trailed 23-22 at half.

The Lady Bulldogs controlled the third quarter with a 12-5 advantage to take the lead, 34-28. Laverne cut into the lead, outscoring Forgan 12-8 in the fourth, but the Lady Bulldogs held on for the win.

Nikki Taylor led the Lady Bulldogs with 14 points. KaDawn McReynolds added 8, and Kassandra Rodriquez 7.

As a team, Forgan was 8 of 10 inside the arc, 2 of 12 from outside, and made 17 of 25 free throws.

Forgan advanced to face Shattuck today.
