TURPIN — Nine straight turnovers to start the game told the tale of the game for the Lady Cardinals as the Fowler Lady Goldbugs pressure defense overwhelmed Turpin, and won 58-20.

Fowler full court pressed the Lady Cardinals after their first basket, and went on a 10-0 run before Turpin was even able to attempt a shot. Turpin did get on the board midway through the first quarter when Trista Watson put back a missed free throw. But by the end of the first quarter the Lady Cardinals already trailed 18-4.

Turpin was able to get to the line in the second quarter but only made 2 of 11 attempts in the quarter and trailed 36-10 at the half. The Lady Cardinals were outscored 22-10 in the second half.

Turpin (0-2) will face Seiling at 11 a.m Wednesday in the first round of the Laverne Tournament.
