ULYSSES – Vicki Kirby, 68, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at The Legacy at Park View in Ulysses.
She was born Sept. 27, 1945, the daughter of Russell and Mary Lou (Johnson) Ryser, in Cheyenne Wells, Colo.
She married Carl David Kirby in Colorado Springs, Colo.
She grew up and graduated in Cheyenne Wells, Colo.
She was a bookkeeper and had lived in various places, including Alaska for 10 years and 13 years in Mora, N.M.
She was very devoted to her work and was the manager of a golf course for a year.
She also loved to cook.
She moved two and a half years ago to Ulysses to be closer to her family.
She is survived by her step-son, Jon Kirby; brothers, Randall Ryser and wife, Shirley, McCook, Neb., Kelly Ryser and wife, Karen, Mora, N.M.; sisters, Pat Feezor and husband, Marvin, Ulysses, Carmen Medina and husband, Jess, Sublette; four grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl; and sister, Dana Gerstner.
• Rosary service will be at 9:30 a.m. and memorial mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, with Rev. Peter Fernandez presiding.
Burial will be in May at the Christmas Tree Canyon Cemetery in Mora, N.M.
