ELKHART – Phillip D. Fink, 86, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013, at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart.
He was born April 3, 1927, to Chart and Leona (Schoor) Fink in Plevna.
He married Hadean Hull Sept. 13, 1954, in Clayton, N.M. She died in 2008.
He went to school at Stonewall, Colo., and at Elkhart.
He served in the Army in 1945. While in the service he served as an M.P. and a prison guard. He worked as a local mechanic at the Minneapolis and Buick dealerships and was a fulltime farmer.
He was a hunter, fisherman, NRA member and lifetime member of VFW.
He is survived by his three children, Sarita S. Blakeley, Phillip John Fink and wife, Linda, and Salena Jane Hurn and husband, Craig, all of Elkhart; two brothers, Harold (Dutch) Fink, Rye, Colo., and Kenneth (Jim) Fink, Elkhart; sister, Dorothy Ann Farrington, Arlington; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert (Bob) Fink; sister, Charleen Blodgett great-grandson, Aidan Rey Renteria; and son-in-law, Lindon Blakeley.
• Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Elkhart, with Pastor Gary Murrell presiding.
Burial will follow at the Elkhart Cemetery with military rites conducted.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart.
