ULYSSES – Mary Lou Kowalke, 66, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010, at Legacy of Parkview in Ulysses.
She was born Dec. 23, 1943, to Melvin and Anna Rose Raff Acker in Hooker, Okla.
She marred Walter Kowalke in Pratt. He preceded her in death.
She attended school in Hooker up to the seventh grade.
She worked many different jobs. She was a trucker, worked for the highway department, worked as a CNA at the care home and hospital and was a waitress.
She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Beaver, Okla.
She enjoyed crocheting, puzzles and reading books.
She is survived by her four sons, Marvin and wife, Denise Milburn, Ulysses, Lester Jackson, Forgan, Okla., Melvin Howard and friend, Gloria Skiner, Enid, Okla., and Justin Dunn, Ulysses; one sister, Maxine Hendriks, Elkhart; 13 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Rozella Milburn, one brother, Melvin Acker, and three sisters, Savanna Acker, Gladys Davis and Viola Ullrich.
o Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Hooker Cemetery.
