Joseph A. Martinez, 77, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.

He was born Dec. 21, 1935, to Florencio and Simona (Jiron) Martinez in Liberal.

He married Mary Jolene Fronk June 15, 1962, in Liberal. She died Nov. 20, 1984.

He was a graduate of Liberal High School class of 1955.

He was the owner/manager for Bearing Headquarters in Industrial Distribution for more than 50 years before retiring in 2008.

He was a long standing board member of the Trinity Faith Church and a member of Liberal Elks Lodge.

He enjoyed football, racing, golf, fishing and boating.

His survivors include one son, Darrin Fronk and wife, Tammi, Joppa, Ala.; two daughters, Cindy Velasquez and husband, Joe, Turpin, Okla., and Steffani D Martinez, Liberal; two brothers, John Martinez, Liberal, and Leno Martinez, Odenville, Ala.; two sisters, Virginia Gonzales, Liberal,  and Carmen Duran, Wichita; four grandchildren, Darrin Fronk II, Taylor Velasquez, Tara Fronk and Cassidy Velasquez; and one great- grandchild, Kelee Fronk.

He was also preceded in death by four brothers; three sisters; and one grandson, Joseph Alfonso Velasquez.

• Funeral ceremony will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Trinity Faith Church with the Rev. James E. Wallis presiding.

Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Miller Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association in care of the mortuary.
