Iva (Hickox) Burdge, 100, died Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at Wheatridge Park Care Center in Liberal.
She was born March 20, 1913, to Ira and Lettie (Fouty) Hickox on a farm northwest of Hooker.
She married William Albert (Abie) Burdge Nov. 3, 1935, at her parents’ home. He died July 30 1973.
She graduated from Hooker High School with the class of 1930 and attended Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Okla.
She was a member of the Hooker First Baptist Church and Ruth Circle.
She was a charter member of the Hooker Hagolu, Crocheted Club (Happy Hookers), PEO Chapter AV, and Modernistic Bridge Club.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, quilting, needlepoint, knitting, and crocheting for all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children William Ira (Bill) and Olene Burdge, Beaver, Carolyn Fischer, Hooker, and Anita and Doyle Thompson, Hunter; grandchildren, Mike and Jana Burdge, John Burdge, Stephanie and Pat Cipolla, Roger and Marilyn Fischer, Bryan Fischer, Fred and Anastacia Fischer, Melissa Thompson and Mark and Kim Thompson; step grandchildren, Jerry and Alice Hale, Judy and Robert Prince, James and Jeannie Hale, Joe and Shannon Hale, Jana and Micah McKedy; 20 great-grandchildren; 12 step great-grandchildren; 15 step great-great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law Allan Fischer; and one great grandson William Patrick Cipolla.
• Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Hooker, with Hershel W. Lawson presiding.
Burial will be at the Hooker Cemetery.
