Winter weather has finally arrived locally, and precautions should be taken, according to a Wednesday afternoon press release from Seward County Emergency Management

“Prepare for winter weather starting (today) with colder temperatures and a chance of freezing drizzle and/or snow (tonight) and Friday,” the release noted.

Other alerts were included:

“Avoid travel if roads get slick with accumulated ice and/or snow.

“Plan for delays if you must travel.

“Consider that power outages may be possible if ice builds up on power lines.

“Take precautions for pets and livestock that are outdoors.”
