Sam Mansell, 77, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.

He was born April 17, 1932, to C.O. and Willie F. Thomas Mansell at Henderson, Texas.

He married Illa Joyce Bruner Nov. 20, 1969, in Guymon, Okla. She died March 20, 2001.

He farmed for several years and later worked for National Beef Packing Co. for many years and retired in 1995, having the employee number 36.

He is survived by one daughter, Teresa Pitchensky of Texas; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; several close friends, Randy Losey and wife, Nancy, Las Animas, Colo., Bess “Sis” Gentry, Walsh, Colo.,  Ralph Baker, Walsh, and Bill Baker of Georgia; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

o Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Miller Chapel, with the Rev. Rex Petty presiding.

Burial will be at the Kismet Cemetery.
