What would Jesus think of gun control? E-mail

Recent events have raised the gun control issue again, and I was in a discussion with a couple of my liberal (not Liberal) cousins when one asked the question, “What would Jesus do?”

That question does have merit.

Let’s look at it.

When Cain killed Abel, did God punish the weapon or Cain?

When Peter cut off the guard’s ear in the Garden, did Jesus chastise him for having the sword or for how he used it?

In Luke 22:36-38, Jesus is preparing his disciples for his return to Heaven and he instructs them to buy a sword, even if they have to sell their cloak to do it. He knew what kind of world His disciples would be living in.

And it was Jesus who made a whip and cleared the temple.

What would Jesus do?

With 10,000 angels at His call, He wouldn't need a concealed carry permit, but I believe He would encourage His followers to get one!

Save them if you can, but you have to be alive to do it.
