The Newport Pagnell and Olney Lions Club in Olney, England has reached out to Liberal residents to offer them a unique calendar produced by the club, according to an email from John Ferris, their fundraising committee chairman
“Christmas greetings to your readers from Olney, England,” Ferris wrote earlier today. “Most of your readers are aware of the link between our small market town in rural England and Liberal, which sees our annual International Pancake race take place each year, but I wonder how many know what Olney, England, and the surrounding area actually looks like.
“Our Lions Club has produced a calendar for 2014 called ‘About Olney,’ and we wondered whether any of your readers may wish to purchase one to see the area of Olney and surrounds actually look like and in doing so, will be supporting our Lions Club at the same time.
Ferris noted the calendars are available for $15.
“And they will be posted direct to the purchaser from the UK at no additional cost,” Ferris wrote. “Anyone wishing a calendar can visit our website www.olneylionsclub.org or drop me an email at
when arrangements can be made over payment, etc.
“I hope that you can publish this information to your readers and help to further the links between our two towns,” he added.
