William Stratton Grant Landess, 21, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008, at the Baylor Institute of Rehabilitation in Dallas.
He was born March 27, 1987, to Bill and Suzy Landess in Liberal.
He attended school in Guymon, Okla., and Elkhart. He graduated from Elkhart High School with the Class of 2006. He lettered in football, baseball, and was 2005 All State in baseball. He was a junior at West Texas A&M in Canyon, Texas.
He was a member of the Victory Memorial United Methodist Church.
He enjoyed all sports and was a University of Oklahoma football fan.
Survivors include his parents; one brother, Mark Landess, Guymon; the love of his life, Savanna Kern, Elkhart, and her parents, Brad and Susan Kern, Vernal, Utah; grandfather, Doug Elliott, Hardesty, Okla.; and great-grandmother, Iva Elliott, Hardesty.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mark and Pearl Vantine, Henry and Maryellen Landess and Cecil Elliott.
o Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Victory Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Michael Burkett and the Rev. Fred Landess presiding.
Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Elmhurst Cemetery.
