The Beaver Lady Dusters pulled out a hard fought, 44-41, win over the Laverne Lady Tigers Friday night in Laverne, but it took overtime to do it.
After trailing by three at halftime, the Lady Dusters outscored Laverne 14-9 in the third to take a slim 32-30 lead into the fourth quarter.
But Laverne was able to tie the game and send it to overtime knotted at 38. Beaver won the extra session 6-3 to win 44-41 for their fourth consecutive win.
Beaver was stout as a team at the free throw line converting 14 of 16 to help make up for 16 team turnovers.
Beaver had struggled on offense early in the game and trailed 10-5 after the first period, but was able to cut into that lead in the second and trailed 21-18 at the break.
Erin Becker led the Lady Dusters in scoring with 16 points, including three makes from beyond the arc. Becker also picked up four steals and grabbed seven rebounds.
Tristan McQuitty finished with 11 points, four rebounds, and three steals. Anna McDonald tallied nine points and eight rebounds. Jordan Jesko scored 7, had eight rebounds, and three assists.
Beaver improves their record to 14-7 and will host Kansas 2A No.1 Southwestern Heights (11-0) tonight at the Duster Dome.
