ULYSSES – Anna Maria Piñon, 58, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at her home in Ulysses.
She was born May 18, 1955, to Jose Angel Marquez and Guillermina De La Peña, in Anahuac, Chihuahua, Mexico.
She was a homemaker for her children, and later provided day care. Her grandchildren meant everything to her.
She was a member of the Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses.
She is survived by ex-husband, Margarito Piñon; father, Jose Marquez, Washington, Ind.; two daughters, Elma Guaderrama and husband, Joel, Ulysses, and Diana Gutierrez and husband, Ramon, Ulysses; brothers, Ignacio Marquez, Joaquin Marquez, Jose Marquez, all of Mexico, and Jorge Marquez, Hutchinson; sister, Dora Beltran, Seagraves, Texas; and six grandchildren, Joel Guaderrama, Xavier Guaderrama, Natalia Guaderrama, Casandra Gutierrez, Kaileen Gutierrez and Jonathan Gutierrez.
She was preceded in death by her mother; brother, Gabriel Marquez; and nephew, Jonathan Marquez.
• Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses with the Rev. Peter Fernandez presiding.
Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
