The Seward County tennis team entered last weekends Metro State Invitational as the only junior college program in a field filled with NCAA division II foes.

The Saints came out of the weekend as the only team with five championships.

Ronzai Saurombe took home the No. 1 men’s singles title for Seward, and Trevor Kipping grabbed the No. 2 men’s singles title.

In the men’s #1 double’s tournament, the team of Saurombe and Alejandro Gonzalez grabbed the championship for the Saints.

On the women’s side, Paula Lopez and Paula Coyos settled for a co-championship for Seward in the No. 1 women’s singles tournament.

Lopez and Coyos paired up later for the No. 1 women’s doubles tournament, and picked up another title in the process.

This weekend the Saints tennis team will be in Oklahoma City, Okla. for the ITA Regional Championships.
