L&T staff report
Friday night, a Satanta Indian, Anthony Crump was severely injured in a football accident during the varsity game against Goodwell, Okla. Anthony suffered a broken C3 vertebrae, damage to tendons and spinal cord, and a hematoma.
At the time of EMS response, Anthony was unable to move his extremities and was in severe pain. As of Monday, Anthony had regained limited mobility in his arms and legs. The pain persists, but he is in good spirits and very optimistic about the future.
The EMS, nurses, and doctors have been excellent with his care and Anthony looks forward to a bright future. Doctors are now looking at transporting him to a rehab facility in Denver, Chicago, or somewhere in Nebraska.
The family will be in need of funds as insurance will not cover the cost of transportation and the cost of travel, food, lodging, and bills for the family.
Immediately after his diagnosis, Satanta Jr/Sr High staff began to rally support for the family. There will be a series of fundraisers in his honor , which include collecting donations and selling t-shirts with the TEAM ANTHONY logo. Those will be available as soon as possible.
