Obituary

Russell G. Rhodes, 96, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013.

He was born May 13, 1917, to Ralph and Zeta Rhodes in rural Dresden.

He was a meterologist for the U.S. Air Force until 1972. He then farmed near Dresden.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Rhodes, Dresden; one son, Ralph “Dusty” Rhodes and wife, Katie, Boise, Idaho; four daughters, Marjorie Madsen, Spokane, Wash., Nancy Rhodes, Boise, Carol Rhodes, Dresden, and Teresa Schiltz and husband, Don, Liberal; one brother, Richard “Bud” Rhodes and wife, Helen, Jennings; one sister, Meredith Eater, Gardenville, Texas; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ralph Rhodes; five sisters, Salome Gallatin, Marjorie Myers, Janet Steffen, Carol Rhodes and Patty Rhodes; and one son-in-law, Rick Madsen.

• Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at the United Methodist Church in Dresden.

There will be a private family burial at the Dresden Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials are suggested to the Dresden United Methodist Church or the Dresden Cemetery.
