Obituary

GARDEN CITY – Artie O. Brunson, 102, died Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, at the Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City.

She was born May 8, 1911, to William Henry and Lillie May Blevins Clarkston in Loco, Okla.

She married Mearl Brunson Nov. 27, 1928, in Frederick, Okla. He died March 9, 1997.

She had been in partnership with her husband of Brunson Distributing Company.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Garden City.

Survivors include one son, Roger Brunson, Garden City; one daughter, Alene Calder Herrman, Liberal; 17 grandchildren; and 37 great-hrandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Doyle Brunson; a daughter, Mearlene Ankrom; six brothers, Clarence, Carl, L.K. (Pete), Bill, Chester and Wendell Clarkston; a sister, Esley Clarkston; and a great-granddaughter, Jaimie Carr.

• Graveside services were at 10:30 a.m. today at the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.

Memorials are suggested to the Artie Brunson Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
