ROBERT T. JOHNSTON
MEADE – Robert Thomas “Bud” Johnston, 78, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008, at his Dodge City residence.
He was born Dec. 24, 1929, to Robert Christian and Ann (Lawson) Johnston in Dodge City.
He attended the Meade school system, graduating from Meade High School in 1949.
He worked as a certified surgical technologist for many years.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Meade; a charter member of the Association of Surgical Technologists of Wichita and the national association; and the Moose Lodge of Dodge City.
He enjoyed music, particularly playing the organ, reading and cooking.
He is survived by one brother, of Meade, and his extended family, Father Lisle J. Pottorff and family, Douglass.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
o Memorial vigil services will be at 4 p.m. today at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Meade, with the Rev. Angel Dy presiding.
Holy mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Cremation has taken place.
Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Meade.
Memorials are suggested to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Cancer Society in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary of Meade.
