Bill Meek, 84, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013 at Kansas Medical Center in Wichita.
He was born Sept. 7, 1928, to Bill and Fannie (Conley) Meek in Winnipeg, Canada.
He married Anna Lee House Sept. 22, 1949, in Hays. She survives.
He graduated from Stafford High School and attended the University of Kansas and Fort Hays State.
He has worked for Phillips Petroleum on drilling rigs and also working for Smith Tool Company as a salesman.
He was a big fan of KU, the Dodgers and Green Bay Packers.
Other survivors include four sons, David Meek and wife, Nancy, Kingwood, Texas, Bill Meek and wife, Michelle, Liberal, Kevin Meek and wife, Donna, Liberal, and Gary Meek and wife, Kim, Moore, Okla.; eight grandchildren, Shawn Meek, Brandon Meek, Bryan Meek, Jason Meek, Joshua Meek, Farrah Robinson, Kerry Ools and Adam Wooden; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and twin sons, David Lee and Gary Lynn.
• Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Faith Tabernacle with Pastor Rex Petty presiding.
Burial will take place at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Mount Allen Cemetery in Hays, with the Rev. Jerre Nolte presiding.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Brenneman Funeral Home with the family to greet friends from 6 – 8 p.m.
