Obituary

Michael E. Russell, 61, died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, at Southwest Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 23, 1951, to Walter and Fannie Marie (Beavers) Russell in Duncan, Okla.

He married Kathryn Smith July, 11, 1997, in Beaver, Okla. She survives.

He graduated from high school in Bray, Okla., in 1970.

He was employed by the City of Liberal. Prior to that, he worked for Halliburton, as an acid treater, retiring after 35 years.

He was a member of Central Christian Church, NRA, and the Liberal Shooting Club.

Other survivors include two daughters, Christi Jones, Virginia Beach, Va., and Becky Roose, Farmington, Mo.; one sister, Charlotte Jones, Marlow, Okla.; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

• Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Central Christian Church, in Liberal, with Pastor Chuck Scroggs presiding.

Burial will be at a later date at Pioneer Cemetery in Beaver.

Memorials are suggested to Selfless Miracles or Central Christian Church, in care of Brenneman Funeral Home, 1212 W. Second Street, Liberal.
