The 12-year-old Cimarron River Rattlers completed the sweep of their pool Monday and are now two wins away from the first-ever appearance at the national tournament for a Rattler team.
The Rattlers hit six home runs including two from Jett Brown, two from Alex Yanez, and one each from Elijah McCarter and Dylan Thompson in a 14-6 win over Alliance, Neb.
Yanez started for the Rattlers and gave up one run in five innings. Thompson pitched one inning and gave up five runs.
The Rattlers will face La Junta, Colo., in the semi-finals today, and Missouri will face Minnesota.
The two winners will face off in the Midwest Regional championship later today, and the winner will advance to the Cal Ripken National tournament.
