GT Promotions owner Glen Thompson, left, waves the checkered flag above Liberal’s Blake Chaloupek and GT’s trophy girl Monday night during intermission at the 5-State Fair stock car races after Chaloupek, 9, received an early birthday present on the eve of his 10th birthday by taking home the winner’s trophy in the 6 and older children’s bicycle races. Thompson also gave out 20 new bikes to local kids during the kids’ bike races. All kids that raced got trophies. Though Monday was the final night of stock car racing, Thompson is putting on ATV races and a 100-lap enduro race tonight, when gates open at 4 p.m. with the action starting at 5.
