Obituary

Ella Madge (Ebersole) Ukens, 92, died July 2, 2013, at Wheatridge Park Care Center in Liberal.
She was born Oct. 10,1920, to Marshall Robert and Martha Linow (Gilmore) Ebersole.
She married Emil Ukens October 7, 1945. He preceded her in death January 1989.
She attended the Lemon School and graduated from Hooker High School.
She worked at The Hooker Advance and First National Bank.
She attended the Gospel of Grace Church and taught many different Sunday School classes through the years. She served as a secretary for the Awana program.
She also served as a Cub Scout leader and was a part of the “Friendly Folks” program at the Methodist Church.
She loved doing all kinds of needle work, gardening, canning, working in her large yard, birds, growing flowers and traveling.
She is survived by Don and Joyce, Hooker, Okla.; Peggy Overstreet and husband, Ron, Boise City, Okla.; Bob and Lori, Felt, Okla.; Tom and Kim, Conway, Ark.; Grandchildren, Angela Danielson and  husband, Jeff, Deer Park, Ill.; Ashley Ylitalo and husband, Matt Knoxville, Tenn.; Aspen Balthazor and husband, Matt, Haysville; Michelle Schroeder and husband, Derek, Alta Vista; Kimberly Nichols and husband, Eddie, Dodge City; Michael Overstreet, Boise City, Okla.; Shaun Ukens, Stillwater, Okla.; Randi Ukens, Tulsa, Okla.;  Nathan Ukens, Albuquerque, N.m.; and Rachel Ukens, Wichita; Great Grandchildren, Zayne Symons , Okmulgee, Okla.; Emma, Eli, Ezra and  Ellie Ylitalo, Knoxville, Tenn.; Camden and Tenley Balthazor, Hayesville; Anna Schroeder, Alta Vista; and Mason and Ryan Nichols, Dodge City.
She was  also preceded in death by her parents; an older sister, Jean Ukens; and younger brother, Howard Ebersole.
• Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Gospel of Grace in Hooker with Rev. Christ McFarland and Rev. Jack Jacobs presiding.
Burial will be in the Hooker Cemetery directed by the Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. in Hooker, Okla.
Memorials are suggested to the Gospel of Grace Church for missions and may be left at Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, OK 73945.
