The first-ever Chili Run fundraiser for Stepping Stone Shelter was conducted Saturday, Jan. 16, with approximately 40 participants.

Special thanks to the Seward County Community College Lady Saints volleyball team for helping with registration, water stations and traffic diversion and wherever else needed.

Special thanks to SWFTR running group for use of equipment, volunteering and participating.

Special thanks to Emery Swagerty for organization and leadership of the event.

The 5 K run began at 10 a.m.

Winners were: overall first-place winners were Valentin Borunda and Julie Tucker
