Estela PosasSanchez, 76, died Thursday, June 20, 2013, at her home in Liberal.
She was born Oct. 27, 1936, to Teofila Posas and Francisca Sanchez in Olanchito, Honduras.
She married Ciriaco Ponce in 2005. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sons, Ramon “Melaida” Ponce, Auburn, Ind., Ciriaco Ponce, El Dorado, and Edwin “Martha” Ponce, Liberal; five daughters, Sara Ponce, Liberal, Francisca “Juan” Ponce, Dodge City, Dulce Ponce, Miami, Fla., Silvia “Pablo” Hernandez, Garden City, and Ivis “Jorge” Velez, Dodge City; four sisters, Ines Posas, Julia Posas, Carmen Posas and Maria Posas, all of Honduras; six brothers, Roberto Posas, Cruz Posas, Feliciano Posas, Reinaldo Posas, Carlos Posas and Mario Posas, all of Honduras; 25 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Santiago Ponce and Ciriaco Ponce, Jr.; and one daughter, Suyapa Ponce.
• Vigil is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. tonight at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
Friends may visit until 6 p.m today at the Miller Mortuary.
