Willa Frances Ragland, 79, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, at Park West Plaza in Wichita.

She was born Aug. 16, 1929, to Price & Adeline Nall Davies in Liberal.

She married John M. Ragland Jr. Oct. 16, 1949, in Liberal. He died Feb. 23, 1996.

She graduated from Liberal School and received her bachelor’s degree in home economics and elementary education from Kansas State University. 

She retired from Garfield Elementary School.

She was active in the First Christian Church. She served on many boards in Liberal, including Order of the Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary, Order of Rainbow for Girls and PEO Sisterhood.

She is survived by one daughter, Sandra, Wichita; one sister, Patsy, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and two grandsons, Michael and Jason Lacy.  

She was also preceded in death by her parents, and one son, John Price Ragland.
