Joseph A. “Joe” Moore 1st, 83, died Friday, May 24, 2013, at Good Samaritan Care Center in Liberal.
He was born Oct. 5, 1929, to Norman A. Moore and Annie Bell (Blackwell) in Big Spring, Texas.
He married Bernice Stanfield. She preceeded him in death.
He worked in the oilfield and was formally employed by Wakefield Oil Company.
Survivors include son, Douglas A. Moore, Liberal; two sisters, Marie McGlaun, Lubbock, Texas, and Laverne Stanfield, Odessa, Texas; nine grandchildren, Jason L. Finch and wife, Joy, Headrick, Okla., Douglas L. Moore Jr. of Georgia, Joe A. Moore 2nd, Liberal, Katy B. Davis and husband, Brian, Anthony, Melissa Wood, Amsterdam, N.Y., Jeremia Stuart and wife, Trisha, Howecave, N.Y., Patrick J. Peery, Texhoma, Okla., Angela Jo Walden, Liberal, and Ralisa Walden, Garden City; seven great-grandchildren, Kayla K. Hill, Cheyanne R. Finch, Kaycee L. Finch, Kylie R. Peery, Carlos Guardiola, Marina Guardiola and Chloe Davis; and son-in-law, Edward J. King, Liberal.
He was also preceeded in death by his parents; daughter, Betty Jo King; brother, Marvin Moore; and daughter-in-law, Eleanor Moore.
• Graveside service was at 2 p.m today at Restlawn Cemetery, Liberal, with Pastor Greg Turpin presiding.
