Seward County deputies and firefighters pull a body placed in a rescue basket from under the Massoni Bridge around 3:40 Thursday afternoon at the railroad cut on County Road T off the north side of U.S. Highway 54 in Seward County. According to a report released by Seward County Undersheriff Gene Ward, the body was that of a 60-year-old man from Meade County who died from a self-inflicted gun shot wound to the head. “The name of the subject in being withheld pending notification to family members,” Ward noted. No other details were released, but an unidentified black pick-up at the scene was photographed and investigated by law enforcement.
