Obituary

HUGOTON – Joye Anthony, 94, died Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Pioneer Manor in Hugoton.

She was born Dec. 28, 1918, to Mac and Ferol (Pinell) Walter in rural Beaver County, Okla.

She married Dean Anthony in 1936. He preceded her in death.

She attended country school through the 8th grade and graduated from Beaver High School in 1935.

She established a business in Hugoton known as Shoppe Elite that she owned for 25 years.

She was associated with several civic and social groups.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Mabel Walter of Wichita, Kansas; two nephews, Michael Walter and wife, Marilyn, Wichita, and  Ronald Crossley and wife, Carol, Cleveland, Ga.; and great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bud Walter; sister, Twila Crossley; and nephew, Larry Crossley.

• Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Pioneer Cemetery in Beaver, Okla., with Pastor Jim Reeves presiding.

Memorials are suggested to the Pioneer Manor in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 423 S. Main, Hugoton, KS  67951.
