The Rockies lost their second straight one-run game to start the 2013 Cal Ripken season while the White Sox began their season with a 5-4 win.

Brody Sumner pitched for the White Sox while Ericson Vasquez took the mound for the Rockies.

The White Sox took a 2-1 lead against Vasquez before he was relieved by Brodie Warren in the fourth. The White Sox added three runs in the fifth to take a 5-1 lead.

The Rockies rallied in the top of the sixth by getting the first two runners on base against White Sox reliever Elijah McCarter before Cesar Burciaga hit a triple to score both baserunners to cut the lead to 5-3.

Warren followed with a single to right center to score Burciaga to cut the lead to 5-4.

Warren was able to advance to third with two outs before a line drive to shortstop ended the game.

Hunter Carson and McCarter each hit doubles for the White Sox in the win.
