Trailing 3-2 in the final game of the series, Hutchinson’s G. Guild hit a grand slam in the sixth inning to stave off the Seward sweep.
The Saints added two more runs in the seventh to cut the lead to 6-5, but Seward could not score the tying run and lost the one-run affair.
Bryson Allen hit a double and a triple ina three-for-four performance at the plate and scored four of Seward’s five runs.
In the opening game of the Saturday twinbill, Seward dominated the Blue Dragons, 9-0.

The Saints will travel to Clarendon Wednesday and will return to Jayhakw West action over the weekend witha four-game set in Pratt.
The Saints will return to Brent Gould Field April 10 when Calrendon makes the trip to Liberal.
