Officials with the Seward County Fairgrounds are looking to bring some upgrades to the facility.
One of those is a public address system at the rodeo arena. Only one bid was received for the system from Full Compass Systems of Madison, Wis.
The item will be one of two fairground upgrades looked at during tonight’s Seward County Commission meeting, and according to information in the agenda packet, the financial impact would be only for the cost of the PA system.
The bid from the Wis.-based company came in at just less than $12,000. The item is pending approval of the commission, and staff has recommended a review of the quote and going forward with the purchase.
The second item is for an LED sign for the fairgrounds facility itself. As with the PA system, only one bid was received, this time from the Liberal company, Visual Signs.
The agenda packet indicated that, as with the PA system, the only financial impact of the sign would be the cost of the sign itself. The bid from Visual Signs came in at just more than $30,000.
The item is likewise pending approval of the commission, and county staff also recommend a review of the bid before going forward with the purchase.
The commission’s meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. today in the commission chambers in the Seward County Administration Building.
