SPF North America’s Guymon, Okla., production facility experienced a fire in the early morning hours of Saturday, March 30.
The fire started in ancillary equipment located outside the production and warehouse building that spread to two chemical tanks, according to an SPF press release. The fire was quickly contained and isolated.
There was no damage to the main production facility and all SPF and emergency response personnel are safe with no injuries. A HAZMAT crew is on site to ensure there is no environmental damage due to the fire.
SPF would like to thank the City of Guymon and specifically the Guymon Fire Department for their quick and efficient response. SPF has initiated a full investigation into the cause of this incident.
SPF expects the Guymon plant to be back in limited operation within a short period of time. As SPF has a strong emergency and backup plan, all customer shipments will be coordinated through three other North American production sites for the time being with no expected delays.
