Bank of America’s Karan Richardson, center, presents a check for $7,000 to Stepping Stone Shelter Director Pat Allsbury. Allsbury said the money will be used for the shelter’s operating expenses. Allsbury said many people do not realize how much it costs to run the shelter. She estimated around $700 a month is paid for electrical costs, and about $200 a month is paid for gas.
