Obituary

David William Tapscott, 78,  March 9, 2013, at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center in LaJunta, Colo.

His career started with the Santa Fe Railroad, and he retired as an insurance investigator with Equifax.

He was an Eagle Scout, Koshare Indian Dancer, member of the United Methodist Church and served on the LaJunta City Council and Arkansas Valley Utility Board.

He is survived by his wife, Joy Root Tapscott; three children, Douglas Alan Tapscott (wife Kim Harris and sons Jason and Sean), Cynthia Lynne Tapscott Lyddon (husband Bill Lyddon, son Nathan, daughters Laura McComb and Christy O'Toole), and David Wayne Tapscott (wife Julie, daughters Becca and Kaylee); and nine great grandchildren.

He was preceeded in death by his wife, Florence Marie Luke.

• A celebration of life service was at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, at the LaJunta United Methodist Church  with the Rev. Terilynn Russ presiding.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Susan G. Komen for the Cure in the name of David and Florence Tapscott.
