Bill Atlee Mullens of Wichita, Kansas, passed away in his home Monday, March 18, 2013, at the age of 60 years. He was born on February 22, 1953, in Liberal, Ks. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pinky and Billie Jean Mullens. He is survived by his wife, Joni Evans Mullens of Wichita, whom he united in marriage on May 31, 2005. His children, Shay Smith of Bixby, Oklahoma, Malachi Mullens of Liberal, Ks, Macy Mullens Millikan of Liberal, Ks, and Drake Mullens of Stephenville, Tx; stepchildren, Bree Downs of Liberal, Troy and Sandi Evans, and Tim and Marie Evans all of Wichita; grandchildren, Chandler Brockett, Landon, Delainey, & Levi Millikan, Machia, Buddy,& Maliyah Mullens, Sariah & Makaelyn Mullens, and Bethany, Zachary, & Zayne Smith; and great grandson, Benjamyn Brockett.
Bill was a lifelong resident of Liberal, until moving to Wichita in 1997. He graduated from Liberal High School’s class of 1972. For many years, Bill was self-employed in the roofing and construction business. When his children were of the home, he enjoyed coaching their sports teams, especially his boys’ football. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting as well. Bill excelled at pool. He loved playing in pool tournaments all over Wichita, and even traveled to Las Vegas to play a time or two. Bill had a huge personality and loved being around people. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
