Obituary

 

MEADE – Elsie M. Kane, 82, died Sunday, March 17, 2013, at the Lone Tree Retirement Center, Meade.

She was born Jan. 28, 1931, to Martin and Nora (Feldman) Eckhoff in Meade.

She married Elwood Kansas Aug. 7, 1948, in Dodge City. He died July 25, 2011.

She attended the Meade school system.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Saint John Lutheran Church, Meade, and enjoyed sewing and quilting.

She is survived by one son,  Larry Kane, rural Meade; one daughter, Diana Caldwell, Balko, Okla.; six grandchildren, Mandi McMillian, Lance Kane, Jennifer Fuentes, Skyler Kane, Jamie Paul Caldwell and Candace Nickerson; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Gary Kane; three brothers, Raymond Eckhoff, Chester “Hap” Eckhoff, and Leonard Eckhoff; and a grandson, Robert Kane.

• Funeral services were at 2 p.m. today at Saint John Lutheran Church, Meade, with the Rev. Lynn E. Spencer presiding.

Burial will follow at the Graceland Cemetery, Meade.

Memorials are suggested to the Lone Tree Retirement Center in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary.
