ULYSSES – Larry L. Gee, 72, died Friday, March 15, 2013 at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses.
He was born Jan. 15, 1941 to William Leonard and Betty (Deyoe) Gee in Syracuse.
He married Gretchen Herbel Dec. 27, 1958 in Ulysses. She survives.
He attended Ulysses Grade School and Grant County Rural High School in Ulysses.
He was co-owner of D&G Backhoe Service, owner of L&R Fertilizer, was a self-employed potato farmer and worked for Barney Rogers Dirt Contractor.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
He served as a Ulysses City Council member from 1987 to 1995, was past president of the Kugler Oil advisory board and the Ulysses Golf Association. He was also a member of the Potato Growers Association.
He is also survived by his mother; two daughters, Tammy Oliver and husband, Ben, and Stacey Gee, all of Ulysses; two grandchildren, Trace Oliver, Macon, Ga., and Taryn Oliver, Manhattan, Kan.; one great grandchild, Kendall Oliver, Macon, Ga., and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Garry Gee.
o Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Ulysses.
Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery.
