ULYSSES – Manuela Morales, 76, died Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus in Wichita.
She was born Feb. 19, 1937 to Angel and Manuela (Bustamante) Vasquez in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico.
She married Erasmo Morales Nov. 27, 1957 in St. Elena, Chihuahua, Mexico.
She moved with her husband to the United States in 1967 where they lived in Ryus and Ulysses.
She was a member of the Assembly of God Church and attended Templo Betania.
She enjoyed serving, cooking, crocheting, knitting and reading the Bible.
She is survived by five sons, Carlos Morales and wife, Blanca, Ulysses, Jesus Morales and wife, Edita, Palm City, Fla., Jose Ramon Morales and wife, Amy, Ulysses, Evelio Morales and Estevan Morales, both of Ulysses; three daughters, Olivia Galaviz and husband, Erasmo, Leticia Chavez and husband, Marcos, and Evelia Castilleja and husband, Arnoldo, all of Ulysses; two sisters, Juana Vasquez Armendariz and Lina Vasquez Gonzales; 24 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents; one son, Erasmo Jr., and seven siblings.
o Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Roselane Church of God in Ulysses with Pastor Angel Martinez presiding.
Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery.
An evening service will be at 6 p.m. today at the Roselane Church of God in Ulysses.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
