William (Bill) Macedonio Delgado, 65, died Sunday, March 10, 2013 in Liberal.
He was born May 6, 1947 to William and Avelina Delgado in Garden City.
He graduated from Eureka High School in 1965 in Baker, Okla. as valedictorian. He later attended Panhandle State University, where he was on the Dean’s Honor Roll and graduated with a bachelor’s degree.
He is a veteran of the U.S. Army with an honorable discharge in 1970.
While attending college he won a battle of the bands competition in the late 1960’s with a band named Reactions. The band placed ahead of country artist Mike Lunsford.
He is survived by one son, Anthony, Enid, Okla.; sister Irene Velasquez and husband, Raymond, Ulysses; grandchildren; nieces and nephews; brother-in-law Johnny Martinez, Liberal, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Elsie Martinez.
o Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday with Mass taking place at 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Anthony Catholic Church with Father James Dieker presiding.
Burial will follow at the Liberal Cemetery.
Friends may call Miller Mortuary from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday.
