HARDESTY, Okla. – Knox Justin Johnson Kolbe, 33, died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, as a result of a car accident near Hooker, Okla.
He was born Aug. 5, 1976, to Helen (Johnson) and Will Kolbe in Carson City, Nev.
He married CaSandra (Sandi) Ninemire June 29, 2002. She survives.
He graduated from Douglas High School in Gardnerville, Nev., and attended the University of Nevada in Reno; Redlands Community College in El Reno, Okla., and graduated from Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Okla., with a bachelor of science degrees in animal science and agribusiness.
He was a meat selector for National Beef in Liberal.
He was a member of the Hardesty United Methodist Church.
He served on the Hardesty City Council; the Texas County Junior Livestock Show Board and was president of the International Feedlot Cowboys Association.
He also ran cattle, enjoyed roping and was a hunter.
He is also survived by his grandfather, Knox Johnson, Gardnerville; his parents; one daughter, Camdyn Pearl Kolbe, Hardesty; two brothers, Drew Kolbe and Elliot Kolbe, and wife, Laura; his in-laws, Debbie and Greg Ninemire, Hardesty; brother-in-law, Cody Ninemire, Hardesty; and his grandmother-in-law, Margaret Ninemire, LaJunta, Colo.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Albert and Ruth Kolbe and Elizabeth Johnson.
o Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Hardesty School Auditorium with the Rev. Herbert Bridgewater, pastor of Hardesty United Methodist Church, presiding.
Burial will follow at Hartville Cemetery.
