Otis Louis Davis, 87, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at Emeritus of Cy-Fair Assisted Living.
He was born Sept. 18, 1925, to Gillis and Flara Sofge Davis in Batesville, Texas.
He married Jerrie Louise Snead Nov. 28, 1946, in San Angelo. She preceded him in death.
He then married Frankie West in January of 1998. She survives.
He entered the Eldorado (Texas) School system in September 1932, graduating in 1943. He entered Sul Ross State College in September of 1946, graduating with a degree in businesss administration in January of 1949. While in college, he attained the rank of Master Mason in January of 1949.
He entered the U.S. Navy on August 4, 1943, serving in World War II and was discharged April 9, 1946. He was employed as a teacher until June of 1951, when he entered the oil business. He remained in the oil business, retiring from Amoco Production Company in September of 1992 in Liberal.
He served on the board of directors at Baker Arts Foundation in Liberal and was president of the board for two years, and served as president of the Liberal Garden Club for many years.
Other survivors include sons, Bill Davis, Brenham, Mike Davis, Houston, Claudia and Cliff Duke, Houston, and Gregory and Cindy West, Brandenburg, Ky.; his daughter, Debbie Davis, Houston; and grandchildren, Jessie Davis, Jackie Davis, Jeremy Davis, Elizabeth Craig, Nick Casey and Eric Casey.
o Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church of Brenham, with Pastor Dale Chance presiding.
Graveside services will be under the auspices of Graham Lodge 20 of A.F. & A. M. in Prairie Lea Cemetery.
