Patricia Emma “Pat” King, 85, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.

She was born Oct. 27, 1927, to Hugh and Marion (Clark) Henderson in Smith Center.

She married Wayne Denton King Jan. 24, 1947, in Phillipsburg. He died Dec. 6, 2012.

She graduated in 1945 from Phillipsburg High School.

She was a bookkeeper for  Light & King Plumbing Co.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women Circle 6.

She was recently honored nationally for her 50 years of membership in PEO, Chapter FA. She was a member of the Liberal Country Club and was a past officer of the Ladies Golf Association, and a past member of the Epsilon Upsilon Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority.

She enjoyed painting and playing golf. After the semi-retirement of her husband in1992, they became annual snowbirds in Safford, Ariz.

Survivors include two sons, Rodney King and wife, Lesley, Liberal, and Tracy King and wife, Debbie, Liberal; one daughter, Janet Bird and husband, Roger, Kismet; four grandchildren, Becky Bird, Kismet, Andrew King and fiancée, Ashley Powers, Junction City, Ryan Bird and wife, Leigh, Sublette, and Kassi Westerman and husband Tyler, Snyder, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Brayleigh McGinley, Kyler Bird, Ryan Westerman and Avery Bird; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by parents and one brother, Robert Henderson.

o Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church, Liberal.

Cremation has taken place.

A greeting time with the family will be from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at Brenneman Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society in care of Brenneman Funeral Home, 1212 W. Second, Liberal, KS 67901.
