The Hooker Bulldogs entered the week with a twelve-game winning streak. But after a fourth quarter collapse Friday night a Laverne, losing 45-37, now have lost two straight.

"We did not play well in the fourth quarter," Bulldogs coach Chad Hussey said. "We turned the ball over too many times, and missed some shots inside we don't normally miss. We just flat didn't finish, and they did."

Hooker entered the fourth quarter leading 33-28 after outscoring Laverne 16-12 in the third.

But the Bulldog offense disappeared as Laverne rallied to outscored Hooker 17-4 in the fourth.

One particular area left Hooker and their fans with a sour taste - free throws. Laverne shot 26. Hooker shot just four the entire game. The foul discrepancy in the second half was 11-3 in favor of Laverne.

"We didn't settle for jump shots," Hussey said. "We drove the lane, but didn't get any calls when there was contact."

Hooker started the game well, and led 10-6 at the end of the first. Laverne had a 10-7 advantage in the second quarter, but Hooker still led by one at the break.

Laverne's Seth Overstreet did most of the damage on offense, finishing with 23 points.

Hooker's Joe Bean scored 12, Gabe Morales added 9, and Chad Kennedy 7.

Hooker (12-3) will try to get back on the winning track Tuesday when they host Beaver.
