MEADE – Frankie L. Sanders, 94, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Minneola District Hospital.

She was born May 27, 1918, to Charles F. and Emma (Gibler) Bryan in Mattoon, Ill.

She married Jack Travis Sanders April 2, 1936, in Bernalillo, N.M. He died Sept. 3, 1993.

She attended the Dodge City school system, graduating from Dodge City High School in 1936.  After her graduation, she attended Dodge City Community College.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church and served as a Sunday school teacher, HDU, Bridge Club, and an investment group.  She was a volunteer for the food bank.

She enjoyed playing bridge, crocheting, crossword puzzles, traveling, dining out, golf, Bible study, bird and squirrel watching, dogs, dancing and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by one son, Carl Sanders, Russell; one daughter, Carole Post, Meade; one sister, Jeanette Steinkuehler, Council Grove; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her  parents; a brother, Billie Bryan; a sister, Maxine Barton; and a grandson, Bobby.

o Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church, Meade, with the Rev. Susan Greene presiding.

Burial will follow at the Graceland Cemetery, Meade.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade, to sign the guest register.

Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
