ULYSSES – Dolly E. Thompson, 72, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center–St. Francis Campus in Wichita.
She was born Aug. 28, 1940, to Edward K. and Elsie Mae (Fauver) Hill in Cogar, Okla.
She married Robert. L. Thompson Dec. 28, 1961, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Woodward, Okla. He survives.
She graduated from Attica High School and Northwest Oklahoma State University where she earned a bachelor of science degree.
She was a teacher at Skyline High School in Pratt and Ulysses.
She was a member of the Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, a former member of ESA and AAVW.
She is also survived by her son, Chris Thompson and wife, Renee, Salina; two daughters, Cynthia M. Schultz and husband, Marion, Ulysses, and Carri L. Torchia and husband, Patrick, Arvada, Colo.; two brothers, Tom Polsley and wife, Joyce, Bethany, Okla., and Dr. Fred Hill and wife, Annis, Sulpher Springs, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and three nieces; and three nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and step-father, L.W. Polsley.
o Vigil and rosary service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, and funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, both at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, with the Rev. Peter Fernandez presiding.
Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
